The list was founded under the auspices of the AALS Section on National Security Law. The list is moderated by Professor Robert Chesney at the University of Texas at Austin, who provides most of the list content in the form of periodic posts concerning breaking developments in the field as well as forthcoming scholarship and events. When possible, the posts include links to the primary sources involved and a brief summation designed to assist readers in determining whether to explore the item further. Subscribing is simple and free: 1. Send an email to nationalsecuritylaw@utlists.utexas.edu 2. In the actual text of that email (it does not matter what you type in the subject line), type the words “subscribe nationalsecuritylaw” followed by your email address. For example: subscribe nationalsecuritylaw garcia@law.school.edu. For questions or problems contact Professor Chesney at rchesney@law.utexas.edu ABA Section of International Law National Security Committee Listserv Send an email to listserv@mail.abanet.org with a line “subscribe intnatlsec” (no quotations) followed by a first and last name in the body of the email. Intnatlsec@mail.abanet.org is an “open” listserv, and any member of the listserv, regardless of ABA or section membership, may post messages to all subscribers. Listserv subscribers, however, must abide by the Section of International Law listserve acceptable use policy. For example, you should be “extremely judicious in your use of the ‘reply to all’ function on messages sent through Section listservs.” Also, all programs, publications, or event-related items must be submitted to Section staff for distribution. For questions, suggestions or problems with the listserv, contact Gary Sharp by email at wgsharp@aol.com. National Security Committee membership is free but is available only to members of the ABA Section of International Law. |
