Stephen Macko

On January 29 and January 30, Professor Stephen Macko, a professor in the Environmental Sciences Department at the University of Virginia, will lecture on "The Physical Oceans: Geography, Resources, and Oceanographic Processes."

Robert W. Smith

On March 12, Dr. Robert W. Smith will be lecturing on "Boundary Disputes." Dr. Smith is Geographer of the Office of Ocean Affairs at the Department of State. In addition to a broader discussion of boundary disputes, he will also be commenting on how states (particularly the U.S.) manage the disputes (fishing and oil and gas arrangements) so as not to prejudice one's boundary position.

On April 7, CDR James Kraska (JAGC, USN, Oceans Policy Advisor, International Negotiations, The Joint Staff) will address the class on "Oceans Policy and the Navy."
