Revolutions is published three times a year: in the Spring, Summer and Fall. Each issue is constructed around a topic, or nexus of topics, relevant to issues of socio-cultural inequity. Descriptions of topics (past and forthcoming) and calls for papers may be found here.

Revolutions accepts original work (critical essays, creative writing, and visual art) that has not been previously published and which may or may not correspond to a specific call. The following criteria must be followed when making a submission:

Each submission should be accompanied by a cover page listing:

the name of the author

author’s email (note: editors will only contact authors by email)

institutional affiliation (if any)

biographical details (as relevant)

title and short abstract of the manuscript (200 words maximum)

the particular issue/call for which the work should be considered (if general, please note “general submission”)

Additional Information:

A single submission should not exceed the maximum word limit of 6000 words (25 pages, double spaced)

All citations should be in MLA style (latest edition)

Please submit no more than 5 poems at one time (following the word limit)

Manuscripts should be attached as Word documents

Visual art should be submitted in a readily accessible digital form (.jpg)

If your manuscript contains both text and image, please include images as separate .jpg attachments (even if they are embedded in .doc)
